15.06.2009

Feodor Lynen Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers are the instrument with which the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables highly-qualified scientists and scholars from Germany who are just embarking on their academic careers and who completed their doctorates less than four years ago to spend extended periods of research abroad.

Nikolai Kiesel receives one of the prestigious Feodor-Lynen research fellowships by the Alexander von Humboldt foundation in order to work "Towards Single Photon Quantum Optomechanics". Together with the team around START prize recipient Markus Aspelmeyer at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) at the Austrian Academy of Sciences he will push the development of mechanical quantum systems and focus on the interaction of mechanical resonators with single photons.
